Feeding biogas into the ONTRAS network

We have been feeding biogas into our network since 2009. 23 biogas plants, which supply around 15 percent of the bio natural gas produced in Germany, are currently connected to the ONTRAS network. We would be pleased to support you with your plan to connect your plant to the ONTRAS network.

Network connection requests

The regulations under Section 33 of the Gas Network Access Regulation (GasNZV) applies for network connection. If you are interested in connecting a biogas treatment plant to the network, we ask that you notify us of your plans at the earliest possible stage. Please use the data sheet for network connection requests for biogas feed-in, which includes information on the location as well as on the volume, availability and gas quality.

Biogas network map

The map shows the current ONTRAS transmission system with the expected congestion points as a result of biogas feed-in highlighted in colour. In general, the pipelines shown permit a connection to feed in treated biogas, but a detailed review of the network compatibility must be conducted as part of the respective network connection request.
