Cooperations |
ONTRAS stands for innovative solutions and relies on cooperations in order to make gas transport as easy as possible.
Already in 2006 we have been one of the first network operators who offered their main services online. Since that time, customers conclude their transport contracts and manage their balance group contracts simply via internet. Furthermore, ONTRAS offers a huge amount of different data to be individually selected by each customer.
Together with GASUNIE Deutschland Transport Services we initiated Germany’s first online platform for booking capacities within different market areas in 2007. Since that time there have been additional network operators joining www.marktgebiete.com. With starting TRAC-X primary, the new common primary capycity platform of the German gas transmission operators, on 1st August 2011, the old marktgebiete-platform will terminate on 1. October 2011, up to that date allowing capacity bookings for time periods up to the 1st October 2011, 6:00 a. m.
Also in 2007, ONTRAS developed Germany’s first crossing-border market cooperation. www.gatrac.com simplifies gas transports between the Czech Republic and Germany. In the meantime, the platform offers bidirectional transports between the entry-/exit points Lanžhot and Steinitz as well as Waidhaus and Steinitz.

As co-initiator and one of the first registered network operators of trac-x - now being TRAC-X secondary - Germany’s trading platform for secondary transport capacities, ONTRAS also offers chances for traders to optimise their portfolio. Since 1. September 2009, with Volkmar Müller, head of transport contracts management, ONTRAS also provides the managing director for the TRAC-X Transport Capacity Exchange Ltd. which also runs the common primary capacity platform of German gas transmission operators, TRAC-X primary.
TRAC-X primary is the common primary capacity platform of German gas transmission operators. Transport customers must use the new platform for all capacity booking periods after 1st October 2011, 6:00 a. m.. The platform is run by the TRAC-X Transport Capacity Exchange GmbH, also running the onlineplatform for merketing secondary capacity TRAC-X secondary.
The market area cooperation is an initiative comprising four pipeline network operators and ONTRAS.
Starting on 1. October 2009, DONG Energy Pipelines, Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services, ONTRAS, WINGAS Transport and StatoilHydro Deutschland together build up the new market area GASPOOL. This comprises the former market areas of H-gas Northern germany, ONTRAS and WINGAS Transport.
GASPOOL Balancing Services GmbH is responsible for the whole balancing group and control energy management of this market area and runs the virtuel trading point GASPOOL Hub. Shareholders with 25% each are the four network operators DONG Energy Pipelines, Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services, ONTRAS and WINGAS Transport.
ONTRAS carries out specific tasks of balancing group management as service provider on behalf of GASPOOL.
Additionally, Dr. Ulf Kreienbrock, Head Contract management/Regulatory Affairs, has been appointed one of the three managing directors of GASPOOL, his collegues beeing Ingrid Peters and Ludger Hümbs.
