Cross-Border Capacities

Surplus or shortfall quantities describe imbalances between the allocation values being effective for balancing groups and the actual consumption at a specific exit point.

A surplus gas quantities means that the actual gas consumption has been less than the allocated gas quantities. In case the withdrawn quantities exceed the allocation we speak of short fall gas quantities.

Surplus or shortfall quantities may origin from:

  • Imbalanced consumer behaviour at SLP-exit points as compared to the predicted annual consumption curve
  • Differences between predicted and actual temperatures when implementing synthetic SLP allocation quantities
  • Differences between provisionally and final calorific values when implementing RDM allocation quantities

The following prices are valid for settling surplus or shortfall quantities within the former ONTRAS market area for accounting periods until 2009-10-01:
