With more than 7,000 km of high pressure pipelines ONTRAS operates Germany’s second-largest gas network. Intelligent operation and maintenance solutions for this pipeline system provide a safe and reliable network operation. As pipeline network operator ONTRAS is obliged by law to keep the gas technical equipment permanently safe and in perfect condition.

To achieve high quality, ONTRAS has been contracting competent service providers for this task. In cooperation with the involved partners ONTRAS developed and optimised their analysis and maintenance concept. The main idea comprises the cooperation of different companies in order to optimise the use of all available resources by minimising the expenditures.

By combining and redistributing their forces the cooperation partners achieve a higher availability and short distances, at the same time reducing costs. The framework for this unique maintenance concept has been drawn together in compulsory management manuals. Furthermore, all co-operations work by certified and regularly proved safety regulations.

ONTRAS guarantees the technical safety and availability of the gas pipeline network, including the systems which belong to it. To this end, we invest regularly in maintenance. The following measures are planned:

Station/Pipeline Period Measures Impact
No measures planned at this time.

We realise these measures together with service companies which are certified by TÜV (German Technical Supervisory Association) and DVGW e. V. (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water), and work according to integrated quality management (IQM) and technical safety management (TSM).
