ONTRAS - VNG Gastransport GmbH
ONTRAS - VNG Gastransport GmbH, Leipzig, is a national gas transmission system operator in the European gas grid, based in Leipzig. We operate Germany's second largest gas transmission system, with approximately 7,200 km of length and about 500 interconnection points and market its capacities. We link the interests of shippers, dealers, regional network operators and producers of biogas.

We provide a responsive transportation system and ensure its reliability. This is guaranteed by qualified service companies and an integrated quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and a Technical Safety Management System and provides a high level of service, maintenance and expansion works.

Cooperation for more competition
We are a co-founder and shareholder of GASPOOL, the major market area for gas. As a gas transmission network operator, we organize together with over 130 downstream network operators the gas transportation in our network area.
We are one of the initiators for market area and transnational cooperations that facilitate the transport of gas and enforce more competition. An example besides GASPOOL is GATRAC, Germany's first cross-border co-operation platform for gas transport between Germany and the Czech Republic.
